Chic Challenges

I’Over the past two weeks, I've faced the challenge of dressing for everything from hailstorms to heatwaves. Only those with style can thrive in such conditions.

After calming Mr Chic, I slipped into my new dress, ready to embrace the day instead of retreating to bed. (Honestly, the idea of a rain-soaked, see-through look might have me facing fashion jail!) With a confident stride, I prepared to tackle the unpredictable summer day ahead.

Rainy days, windswept hailstones, and the unpredictable English weather never fail to impress. If you follow my Instagram feed, you’ll see that this season I am absolutely obsessed with scarves. I have a vast collection, working my way through a vibrant rainbow of exotic prints. From vintage finds to designer pieces and even scraps from Portobello, they are perfect for keeping my ears warm! The bolder and brighter, the better!

This stunning combination from my favourite London designer, Elie Beaumont, showcases an exceptional tote bag that comes with a chic cotton bag. I confidently donned this amazing look while visiting the Kent coast, drawing admiration from onlookers as I tied the small cotton bag around my head.

On a vintage Sunday morning at Portobello, I knew I had to justify the purchase of this delightful frothy piece. The voice in my head questioned, "Where and when would you wear it?" I decided I could buy it, store it with my other treasures, and enjoy revisiting it from time to time. I refused to let myself be dragged away. Cotton dresses are always a smart choice, especially when paired with a wonderfully soft cashmere cardigan. I envisioned running home through Holland Park, with my hair dripping, before stopping at the nearest coffee shop.

At the Chelsea Flower Show, despite the promise of sunshine, I found myself shivering from the cold. This event, designed for those who have an endless passion for gardening and a deep appreciation for the latest trends in agricultural life, left me in awe of the outrageous prices. Although I wore a vintage coat, it wasn't warm enough, my feet were freezing, and I was relieved to get home.

The jumper proudly displays the slogan "St Moritz" on the front. I was set on vacuum-packing it until autumn, but given the frigid temperatures we've been experiencing, it's absolutely the perfect choice for one of the coldest afternoons in weeks. The vibrant colours truly shift my mindset, and I confidently pair them with my fabulous Lunar Shoes sneakers, which are perfect for jumping over puddles.

Taking a well-deserved break from the outside elements, I found myself inspired by London’s V&A Museum. The Schiaparelli exhibit truly showcased an exceptional collection that left me in awe of the fashion and bold style on display.

On a quiet afternoon in Westminster, I enjoyed the chance to explore the cathedral and put my umbrella aside. With the UK expected to experience the warmest May Bank Holiday on record, this weekend looks very promising. I brought my scarf and umbrella just in case.
