Effortlessly Chic
And just like that … it’s back to basic unfussy wardrobe staples. Heatwave days, uneasy nights bring on Autumn.
I know it resembles a nightdress, and yes, I’ve worn it to bed on several occasions. But let me tell you, it’s the perfect outfit for those sweltering days. Sometimes, you just need to grab what feels right and make it work!
Linen shirts and chic white denim are my go-to for navigating the city. Hot, sticky trains and buses are undoubtedly some of summer’s most avoidable experiences.
The most freeing outfit is a simple, easy, loose-fitting dress. It provides a wonderful sense of comfort and is probably my favourite go-to look. Effortlessly elegant, it can be teamed with a vintage box bag.
I typically avoid wearing shorts in town, but after a vacation that left me with sun-kissed legs, I'm ready to embrace this look! When the temperature hits 38 degrees and the humidity soars, there's simply no better option than shorts to stay comfortable and stylish.
Like a dress, a cool all-in-one dungaree works wonders. Enjoying a flask of coffee in Holland Park for breakfast is one of life’s joys in retirement. No rush, a quick browse through the paper, a freshly baked croissant. I like to do this all year round, but especially in the summer months
Wearing white with a tan, I couldn’t resist this easy outfit. The hat, belt, and shirt were borrowed from “him indoors.” It looks classy. I actually turned off my comments on Instagram because it was so popular.
tI'm a huge Madonna fan and have purchased most of her cover shoots since the 1980s. I paid three times the regular price for the Italian Vogue issue as a special treat, which felt quite extravagant to me.
Crochet may be stylish, but it’s completely impractical for the London summer. I've packed it away for my next holiday—an impulse buy that was a mistake. This serves as a clear reminder: I won’t be buying online anymore.
